hello there...trazodone is an old beast, formerly known as desyrel, an antidepressant popular before the prozac era. your klonopin will do the trick just fine, and trazodone is a notoriously sedating drug, used currently for prn hs insomnia and pre-operative sedation. additionally - for males - there is a statistically significant risk of developing priapism, a prlonged erection that requires a trip to the ER and a shot to the family jewels, as it were, to relieve said condition. you are essentially ping-ponging between a CNS and two sedating medications. the methylphenidate will address any ADD-related issues, and the klonopin will titrate to a steady level within 2 weeks or so. my OPINION is to dump trazodone and if you are having trouble falling asleep, there are two options: (1) ambien, if the problem is both falling asleep and staying asleep; or (2) sonata, if the problem is only falling asleep. be warned that the half-life for sonata is on the order of 30 minutes. in summary, dump trazodone and work with the klonopin/ritalin balance. all the best, chemist
