Just started and want to get off Effexor

I just started taking Effexor a month ago. I was at 37.5 for a week, 75 for about 2 weeks, and then was put up to 150 for 2 more weeks. I think the side effects are worse than my original problems and want to get off of it but am very nervous about the withdrawal after reading the threads. Any suggestions?
