Ritalin is fading...now what?

Posted by kotsunega on April 3, 2004, at 2:14:38

I am BP1 with ADD. For the BP mania, I take 20mg of Zyprexa nightly and wouldn't be without it -- it's done far too much good. For the ADD, I take 20 mg of Ritalin up to 6 times a day.

I have tried other stimulants, such as Adderall and Dexedrine and they had little effect on me. I guess the Zyprexa is overpowering the effects of these amphetamines. But for me, up until recently, I did get ADD relief from Ritalin and with it, my world came into focus. Now, the Ritalin effects are fading away, even at the high doses I take. What's left for me to try? Oh, I forgot to mention I've also tried Strattera and Provigil, but always came back to the gold standard I found in Ritalin.

Suggestions for anything else I can try would be greatly appreciated. I am mourning the loss of the full effect Ritalin had on me for more than a year, but now it's, like I said, fading away.
