I, too, tried this TCA for major depressive disorder. I found it to be moderately activating, with the ususal minor anticholinergic side effects like dry mouth and urinary hesitancy. However, what lead me to discontinuing it was a constant "metallic" sort of taste in the back of my throat. I've never experienced it with other AD medications and did not get an andequate explanation as to the underlying cause.
