Don't be afraid. Effexor is a very good drug and has helped a lot of people (present company included.) As far as the discontinuation effects go, cross that bridge when/if you come to it. There's a great tip for coming off...take a few days' worth of Prozac. It has a much longer half life and carries you through. I've done it before and it's fantastic. Trust me, if you have to come off the Effexor, you'll be able to do it...I've done it more than once and survived!
