In reply to ZOLOFT - negative side effects...HELP!, posted by becksA on March 19, 2004, at 19:14:00
My opinion is that ramping up on Zoloft should be done carefully. My son's Psychiatrist moved him from 50mg to 100mg. Within a few days he seemed very much overmedicated. He would lie down in the yard like he was drunk. After a couple of weeks of chopping pills we found that 75-80mg worked perfectly. That was 6 months ago he is still doing well on it at the same dosage. My son is 16 yrs old 5'11" and 195 lbs. 200 mg sounds high to me. Sometimes Zoloft takes a while to build up in one's system. After that point it is easier to adjust the dosage successfully. Hope this helps.
