Well...it’s not sleep *interruption*......which I don’t think is healthy. (i.e. waking up on and off.)
What I was talking about above, sleep deprivation, is to stay up an entire night with little or no sleep.
Of course doing that more than one night in a row is said not to be good either. What do I think really works? Well, using a strict sleep schedule 7 days a week, possibly leaning towards the fewer hours of sleep...such as 6 or so hours, depending what feels right for you. See...it’s just that I have read *excess* sleep is what really hurts the unipolar depressives. If you are *down* most of the time, limiting and regulating your sleep may be a big factor. I wish I had some sources to quote...as this is just stuff I have read on and off, and through personal experience. I’d also heard that on your days off from work, or the weekend, or whatever, you should not *sleep in*. I used to wonder why Sundays and Mondays where very bad days for me...and now I see why, because I overslept. It is hard as anything to discipline ourselves like this, but I think for our mental hygene, it is worth it.I hope this makes sence..:-)
Best,
Jay
