IMO, this is a silly contraindication, as some of these dibenzazepine deriviatives, such as the sedating tricyclic trimipramine, appear to be relatively safe when used concomitantly with MAOIs, as they are only weak blockers of amine reuptake. Even some of the tricyclics that are powerful blockers of amine reuptake, such as desipramine, can apparently be used with MAOIs if this is done cautiously, so my opinion is that unless strange is going on with this particular drug, it looks like it is being lumped into the prohibited class somewhat unfairly.
