Well, wellbutrin affects nicotinic receptors supposedly, but since it also affects noradrenergic and dopamine recpetors which are what speed {meth and amphets} and cocaine affect, it has been studied for the treatment of stimulant addicts. It is obviously no cure nor does it protect a person from getting high if that person takes an illicit substance like cocaine or meth. It's usually the antidepresssant of choice for addicts with mood disorders. I do not know if it is associated with treating moody alcoholics though.
