NDA for tramadol XR approved; Provigil generic

Posted by Ame Sans Vie on March 6, 2004, at 18:07:31

The NDA that Biovail sent in for its extended-release form of tramadol, Relivia ER, was approved at the end of last month. If ultimately approved, it will be available in 100, 200, and 300mg ER dosages which are said to provide the same efficacy as TID or QID dosing.

Modafinil has received tentative approval for marketing by both Sandoz and Barr Laboratories. The question is, will it still cost $400/month? Let's pray not... this could be a big break to the uninsured/underinsured among us. I'm taking Provigil currently, so I suppose this makes me a hypocrite, but I detest Cephalon for their patent abuse of this drug. <sigh>
