What are you taking it for? I might be able to give you some advice on alternatives if your paxil problems become a reality.
For me, they did. My memory didn't seem to be hurt noticably (at least any more noticably than it does when I'm on benzos). But I did start having a big problem concentrating and sitting still. It was like I was developing extreme ADD, and in fact, my solution was taking ADD medication until I had tapered of Paxil. I am in grad school, so I can truly appreciate the need for extreme concentration and memory. Another problem I had with Paxil, was that it tended to make me more apathetic. I wasn't really concerned about whether I had adequately prepared for class, etc. The decreased anxiety was nice in that respect, but the trade-off was too detrimental.
I am trying Zoloft now, and haven't noticed any problems with concentration impairment so far. I have also tried Lexapro, and I don't recall that giving me concentration problems either.
But these have just been my personal experiences. Good luck.
