Hi:
I agree with you in regard to 'get off this med.,' because unfortunately, ... Serzone is notorious on 'Liver Issue.' You can NOT afford to sacrifice one of your most previous organs, Liver for your depression.

In regard to 'irritability' and 'impulse' is CERTAINLY a lack of AD effect in your system, because as I said in my previous post, Serzone is one of the weakest AD meds. In my knowledge, the most reason why some of pdocs. prescribes Serzone is because some of folks are intolerable to SSRIs, especially among Bipolars. Because, SSRI med. is prone to bring up 'manic' episodes, not for every Bps, but some of Bps. Then, those pdocs. are cautious not to put SSRIs for Bipolars in the first place. In my guess, the tendency of manic after SSRIs is because SSRIs are quite potent AD, then the more work on the chemical, the more adverse effect, for some Bps, ... but I can not be sure to say this, because some of Bps are actually happy about taking some of those potent SSRI along with mood-stabilizer. In this regard, everyone shows different reaction on variety of psycho.meds. Also, another thing about which I know is there is NO scientific measures to prescribe any of psycho.-med., even among reputable pdocs. Thus, a lot of 'trials and errors' to find the right med. combo. Not for 'Guinese Pig' purpose, ... just simply there are no precise scientic instruments, such as CT at present time. However, I read the other day that some of medical-scietists are working on inventing/making those machines for quick search for a right med. combo., ... but seems to need 'money' along with 'time' to complete this project.

Lastly, I know that Seroquel and Remeron combo. brings on too much sleepness. Sounds like you need more AD effect, hopefully this new med. combo. works well!
H.G.
