My doctor prescribed it twice daily for me. I take 1mg about 7:00am and 1mg at 7:00pm. One 1mg dose in the morning wasn't doing much so instead of moving me up to 2mg once in the morning (which might make me tired) he prescribed 1mg twice daily. Also in reality it only lasts about 12 hours.
