Hey--
I stopped my lexapro, 10 mgs./day. I weaned off very slowly, using up a month's worth in about 10 weeks, but here I find myself with a resurgence of ocd and hypochondriacal symptoms.
Because I do have some "real" illnesses to keep an eye on, my hypochondria can explode.
For example, I just went to the chiropractor and had my back straightened out -- it feels great. Yet, because I fear my migraines may indicate weak vessels, and I felt dizzy after the manipulation, I am fearful of having a stroke due to a neck manipulation. I even looked up info online about the risk afterwords -- isn't that sick!
Earlier this week I had major stomach pain -- cause unknown. I was diagnosing myself with pancreatic cancer! (Of course, I went to the dr., who suspects I may just have IBS.)
Man -- I'm tired of being like this, yet I don't want the side effects of drugs either. They make me feel stupid.
The one "natural" thing I'm doing is calling an endocrinologist to get my thyroid tested -- it hasn't been done for close to a year -- because sometimes an undermedicated thyroid can set off my symptoms.
So, the question -- Should getting off such a small dose slowly result in such a strong rebound? I feel nuts!
