In reply to What meds really help Essential Tremor?, posted by shadows721 on February 16, 2004, at 21:12:32

I can't take inderal, because I have low blood pressure. But, these current meds I mentioned have positively increased the tremors. It's really bad. I was asked if I have parkinson's many times. My left hand shakes so bad that I can't hold a drink in that hand. I am using my right hand to do most tasks. Mysoline made me violently sick. Oh, my, it felt like I was poisioned on that drug. I couldn't turn my head without feeling like I was going to violently throw up. I read recently that trazodone has limited use for Essential tremor. I take it at night to sleep. Sometimes, I add serquel with it. I sleep like 12 hours with it. I have to take those pills very early. Also, I read that Remeron has been found to really help tremors. My doc said you will just blow up with weight on that drug. Klonopin is helpful, but it has serious dependency issues with it. Seems like there are few really effective meds for this condition.
