I am about to start celexa (cipramil/citalopram), i'm on an initial dosage of half a tab for 6 days (10mg) then up to 1 full tab per day (20mg), which from that point i'll be seeing my pdoc.
I just wanted to say that I have recently been diagnosed with obsessive compulsive- personality disorder (I originally was diagnosed with manic depression, then bipolar type II, with what i felt was hypersexuality, rapid cycling, and minimal manic, but more moderate depression).
I have found Moclobemide (aurorix/manerix) to be the best form of help in the past, I used it for 2 years and then actually felt normal again (but i was suffering only 3month sessional depression at that stage) up to 900mg.
I also wanted to say that Moclobemide/Manerix is actually a RIMA, not a MAIO......although it acts in a similar way it isn't the same, and is reversable. The MAIO's aren't reversable.
I am aware that there are precautions in using Celexa with MAIO's, but use with RIMA's (which Manerix is) has yet to be fully studied, although on my Celexa information sheet (with the medication) states that you should wait 1 day after using Celexa after using Moclobemide (which is Manerix).
Hopefully this helps everyone.......
I'd definately like to combine the two as well, and feel that if Celexa on its own doesn't have a good effect as Moclobemide had, i'll question my pdoc to see if I can combine them. Also Tegretol as a mood stabilizer, but we are always told to listen to our pdocs (although we often have to wait sometimes months or years being guinea pigs)
