In reply to Has ANYONE'S doctor warned about Effexor withdrawl, posted by BJlass on February 15, 2004, at 16:09:20
I was actually wanred by my doctor that effexor can be difficult, however, I had taken Paxil a year prior and I thought getting off Effexor would be a piece of cake as oppossed to the Paxil... Boy was I wrong. In my case, getting off the effexor has been a long term, frustrating ordeal. I thought I was in the clear after being off it 3 months but then low and behold, I've had rebound problems (severe anxiety, everything making me tweak out, etc). I'm hoping some cognitive therapy will help me out of the rebound periods and bring me back to the person I was! Just goes to show that all of these meds are so different, and outright frustrating.
> I'm curious how many posters to this board who have been prescribed Effexor were WARNED by the doctors concerning:

> 2. The withdrawal difficulties
