In reply to Trileptal, anyone?, posted by Minnie-Haha on February 11, 2004, at 12:01:17
Hi, I only started trileptal about 2 months ago. I think I am finally feeling a positive effect at 450 mg. I find I am less irritable and that was a big problem with me. I am BP1. I like too because it's weight neutral. It helps me sleep at night.
Many people are on high dosages, but I am going to stay where I am at until my brain says otherwise.
Give it another go!

> I need to hear POSITIVE things from people using Trileptal right now. Everybody has their bad experiences and their drugs of choice, I know, but I NEED to hear the positive reports right now. If you want more background on me, read on, else, just please tell me how Trileptal worked/works for you.

I started feeling better right away on the Ativan (0.5-2.0 mg/night), and the Lamictal seemed to help, too, though long before I reached a minimum therapeutic dose, so I don't know if that was just a coincidence from treating the anxiety. At any rate, it's a moot point now, cause at 75mg I developed a rash and my Pdoc pulled me off it. Within a week or two, I was starting to sink into depression again, but this may have been anxiety triggered as both my son and I started back to school in that period. (We've both been struggling in school.)

> Trileptal was the last mood stabilizer I was on, before the drug holiday, but I felt flat or kinda "pushed down" on it, if that makes any sense. Looking back on it now, I'm not sure if it was the drug or other problems causing this feeling. (I had female problems, which lead to severe anemia, and I was physically, mentally and emotionally out of sorts for a long time.)

> So here's where I'm at. I don't want to get back on Depakote. I can't get back on Lamictal. And my Pdoc says trying Trileptal again is my next best choice.
