I am not well acquainted with this topic, but my understanding is that it depends on which benzo we're talking about. I do know that some benzos (diazepam in particular) produce "paradoxical" aggression at high doses. Insofar as most effects are concerned, I believe they generally just plateau. That is, there is only so far that the GABA-A receptors can be "bent open" by the BZD receptors.

Barbiturates; now there's a different story ...
