Kava and Prozac have different mechanisms of action -- Prozac works on the serotonin system, and Kava seems to work either on the GABA or dopaminergic systems. Theoretically, they should be safe to use together...I personally use Effexor XR and Kava together with no ill effects.

> I take both. I use the ground root and prepare in the traditional Fiji way. Very faintly relaxing and stimulating, if that's possible. No big deal though. The weight loss does seem to happen. Kava is a strong diuretic so the weight that comes off is probably water.
