In reply to once-daily trazadone, any benefit?, posted by Jaynee on February 3, 2004, at 11:59:32
Yes, I feel that a once-daily formulation of trazodone would be useful; they do exist in other parts of the world. A time-release formulation would no doubt cut down on the nausea and need to eat with every dose to ensure optimal blood levels.
It would be best in many instances combined with an activating antidepressant to counteract its strong sedation. It is way more effective than buspar for anxiety, IMHO.
Many people aren't aware of how effective trazodone is in restoring potency in men. It completely ameliorated the impotence desipramine caused me, and is often used not only for antidepressant induced sexual dysfunction but also for certain forms of erectile dysfunction. Certainly cheaper than Viagra, and great for sex if one could stay awake!
