Hi Ruthie,

I started on Klonopin over 3 years ago to stop nighttime panic attacks brought on by startup side effects of Effexor. I was so afraid to try Klonopin because I did not know how it would make me feel. I take 1 mg. every night and most nights I sleep great. It does not come on suddenly and for me it just relaxes me and makes me sleepy. I take it at 9PM and then I am ready for bed about 10:30. I can understand how scary it is to take a new medication. I feel confident that you will find your sleep to be very peaceful.
The only thing you need to remember is that Klonopin stays in your system a long time, so don't take it too late in the evening. Let us know how you do. :) Laurie P.S. Many people take Klonopin during the day as well. Some say that the sedating effects wear off over time. For me, it is sedating which is exactly what I need at night.
