I have not read anything on pregnancy and Paxil specifically; however I have read recent articles on SSRI's (Paxil is an SSRI) and pregnancy.
SSRI's taken during pregnancy have not been implicated in birth defects. But we don't know 100% for sure. Doctors should advise patients to weigh the benefits of taking SSRI's during pregnancy against any potential risks.
So if depression would be a major problem for you in the absence of Paxil, you may want to continue on it. This is definitely something to discuss with your doctor.
Some antidepressants do get in the breast milk. I'm not sure if Paxil does. Once again, check with your doc. From what I've read, the nursing baby could get somewhat lethargic for a period of time after breast feeding.
