> 1) Do you label your Social Anxiety as severe, moderate or mild? Is it general or specific?Severe, generalized social anxiety. Panic attacks in childhood when at parties or at friends' houses, becoming avoidant behavior during adolescence, continuing throughout adulthood as fear of others and need for a lot of time in solitude. When i don't get it I start to break down (this is becoming a problem again as i have a demanding job that calls for long hours in close contact with others)

> 2) In a sentence, how does your ADD/ADHD affect you? Example - I am inattentive, lazy, unmotivated, etc.
> I am inattentive, have difficulty with projects requiring work on my own, when unmedicated I feel like I'm living inside a kaleidoscope- easily overstimulated and lacking in control.> 3) What do you consider to be the most debilitating? What do you have the most difficult time controlling? Example - ADD/ADHD/SP
At one time the ADD was so severe that i didn't notice the social phobia. Combined with depression it kept me in a fog for decades. Recently, SP has been harder to manage for a simple reason: My doctor has been reluctant to prescribe anything that works for this condition. I've only gotten a handle on it a few months ago, and it's still precarious.
> 4) What medicines do you (should you) take? What doses and at what times? In theory, how does each medicine help?Strattera, 80 mg, am, for ADD and depression.
Klonopin, .25 mg, am, for anxiety.
Buspar, 15 mg,am, for depression.
Nortriptyline, 75 mg, pm, for depression, ADD, insomnia.
Buspar, 15 mg, pm, for depression.
Comments: I find Strattera to be just as much an antidepressant as nortriptyline, a classical TCA. In fact, its effect is broadly similar, the major difference being that Strattera is not sedating and nortriptyline is.
Buspar is a weak antidepressant, has no side effects at current doses, no discernible anxiolytic effect.
I would take a stimulant for my ADD, but have suffered severe weight loss each time I have tried them.
A higher dose of Klonopin would probably help me more, but even at this low dose it aggravates my sleep-related symptoms. But my narcolepsy is another story...
