I've always been a light sleeper and never slept that well, Effexor made it even worse. I tried Ativan, Seroquel, trazadone and Remeron for sleep.
The best was the Lorazepam (Ativan). I fell right to sleep and slept through the night. The next best was Remeron, but the weigh gain is intolerable. Seroquel gave me a hang over the next day and Trazadone did nothing for my sleep except give me very vivid, weird dreams.
I have great hopes for the Topomax, but then I guess I did for all the others as well.
Too bad the Ativan is so damned addicting... 0.5mg per night doesn't seem like that high of a price to pay fro a really good, quality night of sleep, but if the Topomax can do the same thing and solve a couple more issues as well, I be ahead in the long run.
