My neurologists prescribed me Inderol(sp?) and Prozac for migraine preventatives.
Inderol is actually a high blood pressure med I think, but your blood vessels constricting too much can cause migraines. Neurologist also prescribed low dose of prozac because he says depression and migraines go hand in hand. They are not sure which comes first, migraine and it causes depression (understandably), or depression, which causes the migraine.Either way, it helps prevent a lot of my migraines. My daughter was prescribed Depakote to prevent hers. She was on another medicine which I can't remember the name of, but her babysitter called and said she was a tirant, and we noticed it too, so i called the neurologist and asked if some meds may cause extreme anger, and he said yes, so he switched her to depakote.
Good luck. Oh, I take Royal Jelly pills, which helps my migrianes more than anything ever has.
