Hi, I tried Zyprexa 5mg for about a week. I found it a bit insidious because at first I felt fine but as time progressed, the side effects grew worse until I was having mini seizure-like episodes many times an hour, I twitched and could barely talk ... let alone write ... it was as though the thoughts in my head were fine but my hands and mouth simply didn't want to obey me anymore.I talked to a friend doctor and she said that she usually starts people at 1.25mg ... so I was majorly pissed at my doctor for giving me such a massive dose to start ... given that it was just to boost the AD and get rid of some minor psychotic symptoms.
I can't tell you about the duration of the side effects because I stopped after a week and am still waiting to see my doc again. However, you might want to consider lowering the dose by cutting it in half ... I talked to my pharmacist and thats what he suggested ... but the effects were too strong and I was just too scared to try.
