Black vision - anyone get this

My vision right now is horrible. All of the colors are literally very faded. I know I am depressed but... Does anyone else get this? If I take ritialin (doctor prescribed but I don't want to take) It brighten things up very quickly. I just do't want to start something that would give me a false sence of normalacy ie something that will fade out over time.
