Question: Has anyone had to wait more than 6 weeks to feel ANY benefit from parnate? Has anyone not been happy with parnate, and then have it turn into the miracle they hoped for?
I'm finishing my 6th week (I've been at 50 mg. for the last 2 weeks), and I haven't felt much if any relieve for my dysthymia. In fact, because my productivity has dropped I feel I might be slipping into another deeper depression mode again.
I don't think taking more is the answer because whenever I take more than 20mg at one time, my heart beats too fast, I feel anxious and end up going to sleep to get away from all the stress.
Parnate makes me feel more sedentary (due to low blood pressure?) without motivation to exercise, which just keeps my mood low. Even with taking 400 mg. Provigil and coffee, I still have trouble concentrating and motivating.
I believe part of the problem is that since taking parnate I always wake up in the middle of the night - and lack of sleep is one of the big triggers for my depressive moods. But, whenever I've used sleep supplements (restoril, vicodin, valerium) they keep me asleep through the night, but I wake up feeling unrefreshed and in a pissy mood all the next day.
I've been through practically every drug now, including Nardil (which was good, then stopped working, and side effects were too annoying). I'm thinking about going back to Wellbutrin. Has anyone heard of anything new coming out?
Thanks,
Craig
