In reply to question about my liver, posted by linkadge on December 18, 2003, at 9:15:51
Hi:
In my knowledge, a lot of pshycho-meds. need a 'good-functionable' liver in order to get 'good' effectiveness done. Then, your concern is very understandable. However, most of AD meds. including the one you are on, not publicly deterimental to the liver, unlike 'Lithium' and 'Depakote,' both of which are needed to 'monitor' the liver periodically, done by all sorts of liver-test in the clinic.
However, if there is some reasons for you to worry because of family-history or something, besides without drinking and smoking, you could go to the clinic to inquire for 'liver-test' that is normally quite reasonable charge with the insurance, around $25-40.
