> Can anybody provide insight on Luvox? Their experiences? Their dosage? What did it help?I was on Luvox from 97 to 99. It seemed to help with the anxiety and depression - I'm sorry I can't recall the exact dosage. The reason I got off of it was due to a bad reaction I had when I took Nyquil with Luvox. The doc said it was likely serotonin syndrome, and then I had long term GI problems that lasted for months. I couldn't eat anything without getting sick. Just be careful with Luvox and mixing it with other drugs. The Luvox pamphlet warns that 7% of the population cannot metabolize Dextromethorphan (which is what is in Nyquil).
I switched to Celexa after Luvox, and the symptoms all went away. Unfortunately, the Celexa pooped out on me and I was basically a big lazy bump on the couch. Ironically, the doc put me back on Luvox, with the idea that I would avoid taking other meds with it. Although it did help somewhat with the depression, even at a higher dose than before Luvox did not work very long. I ended up gaining a lot of weight and having daily nausea (I took lots of Pepto-Bismal tablets a day). If you can live with the stomach problems and avoid possible P450 enzyme problems by adding other mediations to it, then it might really work for you. I had no problems sleeping, sexually, etc. Best of luck to you.
