You didn't say how long you had been on the Wellbutrin. That could be the biggest factor in having problems withdrawing from it.
I contacted the manufacturer and they did not have reports of a discontinuation syndrome associated with it. I was on it very briefly as a trial, so I just stopped taking it.
You should really contact your Dr. on how to proceed and if a change of med is needed or perhaps the use of a non-extended release version of Wellbutrin. As you probably know, 150 mgs. is the lowest dose form in the XL version.
The XL version is designed to last 24 hrs., thus the once a day dosing for most. That's the reason cutting the pills is not advised. It's designed to release slowly. Cutting the pills may results in the med getting into your system faster than desired. Although, some here have discussed cutting those types of dose forms without problems.
Just for asking sake - why do you want to discontinue it? I couldn't take the norepipherine increase to my already anxiety ladened system.
It wasn't for me, but works well for many others.
