Clozaril for schizo-affective/bipolar

Posted by Dalilah on December 2, 2003, at 11:43:22

My sister is having a horrible time with schizo-affective side of her bipolar or whatever. I myself only have bipolar - lucky. Her "delusions" are always there to some degree but are back stronger than ever. She currently takes lithium and seroquel.

I wonder if she should try clozaril. Her doctor has mentioned it as a next step and we've thought about it. But I wanted to ask you (anyone who has been there) about your thoughts. Can clozaril and lithium go together? Does it work? Do the risks make it such that she should tough it out on her current meds?

I'm so sad and frustrated with not being able to do a thing. Any advice is apprectiated.
