My son was prescribed Adderall but had a terrible reaction. He did wonderfully on the drug for a few months but over time he got more and more aggressive and had angry rages. The doc prescribed Zoloft and Risperdal. The drugs helped him to control his anger and spontaneous outbursts but did not get rid of them. At this point he was still not able to concentrate as he had done in the beginning with the Adderall. So the doc prescribed a second dose of all three meds at lunchtime. Within an hour after taking this second dose for the first time he had a dizzy episode and almost passed out. The doc said he should not have responded that way and took him off all meds - cold turkey. That was about a month ago. Since then he has had daily spells of dizziness, muscle jerks (like before you fall asleep and your whole body jerks) or an arm or leg will fly - these occurred often right after meds they are down to about 2 a day now, vision problems - which are freaking him out - he described the walls as being wavy (peripheral vision) or seeing things out of the corner of his eyes that aren't there. Yesterday he thought his key was bent but after looking at it longer realized it wasn't. Could it still be medication?? The docs say that the drugs could have uncovered something that was hidden prior to the meds. He has had bloodwork, EKG, EEG, CAT scan. Everything fine (haven't heard about EEG yet). He's afraid he is going crazy. He is almost 17 and drives. Teenagers are hard enough. I'm afraid to be a parent at times because I'm afraid it will set him off. Any help????
THanks
