Please please consider WHY you initially went on the meds. I'm 29 years old and have finally accepted the fact that for my body chemistry, it is absolutely necessary to be on some combination of meds. Like a diabetic has a particular sequence of procedures and substances that MUST be takes, so is the case with US. The stigma stinks. But please realize how many supporters there are and others who completely know what you're going through.
And to the gentleman trying to get off Celexa... You described it as a god-send. Why on earth would you let your doc recommend getting off the med? He's not taking it. If it works, stay on it! If it doesn't, then it's another situation altogether. I have an outstanding book to recommend. I regret that I don't have it with me at this computer, but will post a link asap. It lists all meds with understandable, to-the-point descriptions, cautions, reactions with other meds, reactions with substances like alcohol, caffeine, foods, and even mentions some "unmentionables" (since it's known that people take them, so you might as well know how it'll mix with your legal rx).
Please consider the origin reason why you even started taking the meds though. That is the most important point. If you feel great now, then realize that it must be working! Best wishes.
