> UGH - I HATE it when people say that to me. I've had TRD for 12 years (I'm a 31 year old male) and have been on EVERY drug combo known to man. MY mother constantly says "Just go off everything - I think it's these meds that are MAKING you depressed." I HAVE had months and months throughout the past 12 years where I WAS off all my meds - but still depressed.

> JerryHi Jerry...just wanted to mention a few things. One, is that a lot of your weight gain sounds like it might be water weight gain, as that is the fastest and easiest to put on. I understand that Nardil has a high chance of putting water weight gain on. Talk to your doctor about it (your GP), and remember, water is the easiest to lose. Weight gain on meds also has it's "ceiling", and often the weight will even out over time. (6 months to years) One thing I found that started to help (but not until after awhile) for my Zyprexa weight gain was just plain, simple walking.
As far as the "just go off your meds" comments, you as well as most know how drastic and dangerous this can be. Try to hammer that home if you can. I hope you are feeling better soon, and likely over time you will. Many side effects also disappear over time.
Best wishes,
Jay
