I was diagnosed with schizophrenia and given Geodon about 3 years ago. It worked very well, within 2 months or so. Give the medication time to work; sometimes progress is made very slowly. The treatment success rate for schizophrenia is pretty high.

I was later diagnosed with a rare brain tumor, but the medication works for psychosis associated with that as well. Once your wife is feeling better it might be a good idea to have a consultation with a neurologist. The neurologist can rule out things like brain tumors, stroke, and trauma, all of which can create an symptoms similar to those of schizophrenia.

Most people do get better.
