I started on 50 mg of Luvox last week (in addition to the 300 mg of Wellbutrin SR that I've been taking for 7 years). Hoping to kick the constant anxiety I have, plus the depression that set in about 7 weeks ago. I can get to sleep fine. The problem is that I wake up with my stomach in knots. It takes every bit of willpower I have to get myself to work in the morning. This morning I actually went for a few hours and then came home. Three Ativans (total 1.5 mg) has not done much to reduce the anxiety, even though earlier in the week .5 mg would do the trick. I did increase the Luvox dose to 100 mg last night in hopes of jump-starting the anti-depressant effect. I called my pdoc today and he told me I was brave for upping the dose even though I was having anxiety, although he thought it might be a good idea to try the 100 mg for 4 days to see if Luvox really is the culprit. I told him I'm going through mental anguish. He didn't have much to offer. My therapist is out of town until next week.
Finally, the question: Do you think that this anxiety will go away as I adjust to the medication? I know I've had difficult times with other meds at first that later did well for me.
