Ive been on the Lexapro 10mg (7:00 AM) for over four weeks now and I had a problem with insomnia since the 3rd day on the pill. I was taking ambien every night not for trouble falling asleep but trouble staying asleep I would take the ambien at like 2:00 AM and I would go back to sleep and I would feel jittery during the day. I attribute that to lack of proper sleep. Well now Im on my fifth week of Lexapro and I have slept every night this week without taking anything to stay asleep and I get really comfortable and relaxed just before I fall asleep and Im having the best vivid dreams. Believe me the first four weeks I thought I was losing it. I was ready to throw in the towel and go off this stuff. I was afraid I would always need the ambien. This sites posters have calmed my nerves that its my brain adjusting to the SSRI. I suggest you call your doctor to see if they can prescribe something until your body adjusts it makes all the difference. Good luck
