Inositol is a powerful antidepressant, but unfortunately can be expensive. I had a robust antidepressant effect on only 5 grams per day.
I stopped taking it because I went manic. The emotions I had were so powerful and intense. They gave me the feeling that I just had to live forever.
Taking 5-10 grams a day will cost you $20-40 a month, but it will certainly not make you feel comfortably numb.
