In reply to looking for a biopsychiatrist - HELP!, posted by noname on November 12, 2003, at 19:01:08
There is one at Georgetown University in DC who wrote a book on the topic. His name is Robert Hedaya. The tests cost about $3,000 and include blood, hair, urine. He advises patients about supplements that they may need based on lab tests. BUT he says that he also has his depressed patients on traditional antidepressents.
Hopefully, one day docs will figure out a blood test to see which antidepressent will work best in any given patient. But for now, we really are stuck with the trial and error method.

> I really want a true biopychiatrist MD who will do a complete medical evaluation including lab tests, rather than the "trial and error" approach of pychiatrists.
