Depression and Celebrex (in the 21st Century)

Posted by edw on November 4, 2003, at 16:16:47

Well, first, I am new here but not new to depression. I have been on almost everything at one time or another intermittently over 20 years. I did a search on google on depression and Celebrex (tm) becuase of a new way I have been feeling since being on Celebrex for two days.
This site appeared in my search and here I am. I sure hope this site can tell me more about my condition. I actually volunteer at times for medication studies just to contribute to the cause (plus they pay you). Anyway. I am on (2) 200 mg doses of Celebrex a day for pains from an accident.
I am already on a Prozac (Fluoxetine actually)/Welbutrin (SR) mix. I take the Welbutrin SR in the morning with my Synthroid and Zocor and becuase I feel a little too dragged out, I wait until dinner time to take my Prozac (Fluoxetine. Well I have recently added Celebrex to this twice a day per my doc.
The first day wasn't so bad, but today, day 2, I was quite depressed and feeling very very down. At the time of this writing I have not had my second Celebrex for the day and judging by my back and neck aches I am due for the next dose. My mood is recovered quite a bit so I should know in about an hour or two after taking my next Celebrex if I can correlate the two.
I am also due from my evening Fluoxetine.

I had no idea Celebrex and Depression were related until I inquired and got this site. Is that a blind study or what? I think it is.
We'll see.
