Hey all,
I know some of you here share my affliction of migraines (I posted a while back, you may not remember me, but I have migraines associated with seizure disorder)... anyway, I have a question for migraineurs taking atypical antipsychotics. Have any of you had any luck with one of these drugs allowing a triptan medication to work? (Atypicals block the 5-HT1d receptor, triptans activate 5-HT1b/1d receptors to acheive their therapeutic effect... or so current wisdom states) I'm currently on Geodon for bipolar disorder and Tourette's syndrome, and I currently take morphine, Phenergan, and Toradol for my headaches (which, thankfully, have become rare since starting lithium along with the Lamictal) but I really dislike the way those drugs make me feel, not to mention the fact that having to sleep for 14 hours or so after getting the shots sucks.
So... anyone have a suggestion for a possible triptan/atypical combo that works, or am I stuck with it the way it is for a while longer yet?
