In reply to new lexapro user with major social anxiety worry, posted by bobbiedobbs on November 2, 2003, at 13:47:07
I can give you my Lex experience so far bobbi and maybe there will be some benefit however I am not sure. Just over 6 weeks here and hands still shake at times, most of the time to some degree, anxious, quick to change mood, jaw clenching or squeezing teeth, spacey sometimes and clear others, loss of dreams at night. (which is probably good in my particular case)
Now for the benefits. Can function at work well enough to pass scrutiny. Have had NO anxiety attacks at all. (my attacks if they were an "anxiety attack" consisted of loss of leg strength, quickened breathing and the need to lay down or squat till it passes) Am now able to sleep most of the night except for a few. I dont feel the deep inner pains from the depression as they had been before. It somehow "numbs out" the impact of "the bad hurt" and I think this helps alot.
My situation is from a marriage going sour, and my reaction to the sudden realization of possible loss of my family. So I dont know for certain that the bad section comments I gave, or some of the side effects I feel, may well be the reaction to what is happening in my life. This is a learning thing with psych meds.........
Let us know how you are coping as you try and see if Lex is working at all for you. Hope you get some benefit too.
