Can anyone recommend a system for stopping Nardil? Are there any (ex)depressives out there who prefer Parnate to Nardil?
After being on Nardil for about 6 months, I'm quitting. A couple of months ago I felt my 60mg pooping out so I raised to 75, and then 90mg for the past 2 weeks with still no noticeable improvement. I've been feeling down again, and have gone back to drinking lots of alcohol to feel social. As for Nardil's side effects - I'm sick of the carbo cravings and weight gain and dizziness and body aches - & worst of all.....the anorgasmia. The body aches have recently stopped me from exercising, which had been one of the positive benefits that nardil gave me the motivation to do in the first place.
Unlike most people who find Nardil amazing, I found it just okay. I think it's because my major symptoms are dysthymic rather than social phobic. So, I'm hoping Parnate will give me that energy kick and motivation to be social with people and focus on my work. I hope it works quickly b/c nardil originally took a month to kick in - too long. Any parnate veterans like it better than nardil?
