Thanks to Anne and mrporter for the reply. I am 42 years old and have had about 13 bouts of a-fib over 18 years. It always occurs upon awakening and I have read in several places that this could be caused by a sudden rise in blood pressure, ie stretching and or jumping out of bed. The last two instances I had to be cardiac converted. I am keenly aware of when I go into a-fib and when I return to normal sinus. To be honest it scares the hell out of me although I try to remain calm as to not aggravate it. I have been told that people function with this daily but, I can't even move when I go into a-fib without feeling like I'm going to pass out. I have been told they do not want to put me on meds as, it doesn't happen that frequently but I simply don't want it to happen at all. I was wondering what the criteria is for undergoing ablation just to get it over with once and for all. The doc now has me on Zoloft and Xanax for depression on account of the condition. I really do not like to be on any meds. It has gotten to the pointto where I am afraid to go to sleep and lay awake for hours trying to relax enough to. Anyhow, thanks for the imput, it is greatly appreciated.
