anyone know the etiology of amphetamine headaches?

Posted by hel0 on October 28, 2003, at 20:48:43

Hi,

I've recently switched from ritalin to adderall because I became hypersensitive to it. I want to be able to stay on stimulants for ADD because they have such a positive impact, so I want to figure out what causes these horrible headaches and what I can do to prevent them. I realize that stimulants mimic natural neurotransmitters and cause the brain to work in overdrive.

My question is what exactly is causing the 'crash'/headache, what chemical stores are being used up? Should I try taking some suppliments to aid my poor brain in making extra?

What about glutathione and it's role in preventing dopamine induced apoptosis?

Anyone have any advice to make my amphetamine use slightly less painful?

Thanks
