can't lose weight gained after stopping celexa

Posted by contchy on October 24, 2003, at 9:11:28

Hi, i was on Celexa for about three months. I weaned myself off and luckily have had no withdrawel symptoms except some depression. Heres my problem. The reason i stopped celexa was because i was gaining weight-and I never gain weight i have a high metabolism and DEFIINTEELy was not eating more. even less maybe. So i stopped it. Now from this experience I realize that these drugs obviousally can effect metabolism. the problem here is i've been off of it for about a week and haven't been able to lose weight dieting or anything. I used to be able to lose weight so fast if i wanted to. Now it seems my metabolism has slowed and istead of going bak to normal right after i stopped, its staying in this SLOW MOde. i was wondering if this is normal and if my metabolism WILL go back to normal and when? does it go back after a few weeks when the drug is out of my system totally?

anybody know? i thought maybe it was the serzone (100mg) which i take for sleep everynight. which is not even a therapuetic dose for serzone, its so low. I didn't thnk that could possibly cause the weight gain at such a low dose. I dont know if you guys are familiar with serzones doses but thats like taking maybe 10mg of celexa. very low dose. and SERzone is not supposed to cause any weight gain. so i assume this is from the celexa still that i can't lose weight? someone help paleease.
