I have been taking 200mg of Zoloft for 5 years (since diagnosed panic disorder w/agoraphobia, & depression). The Zoloft seemed to be working, with only occassional anxiety attacks (due in part because I changed my life to suit my situation...ie: had to leave my job, stay within a fairly "safe" area, etc.). However a couple of months ago I began to revert back to very frequent anxiety & panic attacks. My doc of the past 5 years is very strict about changing meds etc.. and especially about drugs such as Xanax, Ativan etc that may be addictive...therefore I went to see a new doc and she's suggested I up my Zoloft to 250/day, take an occassional .5 ativan (which is usually no help) for attacks and add Neurontin to my therapy.
Any suggestions out there?I'm really afraid of starting all over (so to speak), I've struggled with this for so long and feel like the little bit of "good" i've gained is slipping away. I was practically house-bound 5 years ago and though my movements today are limited, anythings better than locking myself inside again.
Anyone with similar problems?
Thanx for your time,
Damian (ST DYMPHNA)
