How long do side effects last?

Hello. I was on zoloft for some time and for a while tried to wean myself off of it. I have not taken any for about a week. I have continued to experience "brain zaps" many times throughout thed day. While very disturbing and uncomfortable, I am trying to just hang in there. I don't want any more zoloft. All I want to know is will these side-effects go away for sure? They are not permanant right?
